                                HOMEMADE ROOT BEER

5 gallons water
3 oz. Root Beer Extract
9 cups sugar
5 lbs. dry ice
 
Stir all ingredients until bubbling stops.
Have a party!
     


                                SAUSAGE BREAKFAST PIZZA

1 package (12 oz.) Breakfast Sausage Links
1 package (8 oz.) refrigerated crescent rolls
1 cup refrigerated or frozen has brown potatoes, thawed
1 cup (4 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
4 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp. dried basil
dash cayenne pepper
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Cook Sausage until no longer pink, drain and thinly slice.
Unroll crescent roll dough; separate into eight triangles.
Arrange on ungreased 12" pizza pan, placing points to
the center.  Press seams together and press over bottom
and up sides of pan to form a crust.  Top with hash browns,
sausage and cheddar cheese.  Combine the eggs, milk and spices;
pour over cheese.  Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. 
Bake at 375* for 20-25 minutes or until a knife
inserted near center comes out clean.  Yield: 8 servings

                          TACO CASSEROLE

1 lb. ground beef, browned
1 lb. can kidney beans (drained)
1 lb. stewed tomatoes
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1-1/2 cups grated cheese
1-1/2 cups corn chips
1 pkg. taco seasoning
Optional:  Lettuce, chopped onions, olives, tomatoes, etc.

Simmer hamburger, kidney beans, tomatoes, and seasoning for
10 minutes.  Pour into greased casserole dish (9x13).  Top with
corn chips and cheese.  Bake at 350* for 15 minutes.  Serve
with optional ingredients.


                             EVERYBODY LOVES MEATLOAF

1-1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 cup oatmeal
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sage or poultry seasoning
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 cup onions, chopped
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 cup milk

Topping:  Mix together and set aside:
    3 tsp. brown sugar
    1/2 cup ketchup   
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. dry mustard

Mix loaf ingredients.  Bake at 350* for 30 minutes.  Add topping
and return to oven for another 30 minutes. 
Good hot for dinner and cold left over for meatloaf sandwiches.
 



                                  CORNBREAD CAKE

1 pkg. yellow cake mix
3 pkg. Jiffy Cornbread mix

Mix cake batter according to directions.  Add eggs, milk, and
butter from cornbread mix directions and then add cornbread
mix.  Stir until moist; may be lumpy.  Bake according to cake
mix directions.  Fills 1 (9 x 13 inch) pan and 1 (8x8 inch) pan.

             
                                                        
              CARMEL CORN

Pre heat oven to 300*

16 cups popped popcorn (approx 1/2 C unpopped)
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1-1/2 sticks butter
6 Tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 - 2 cups unsalted peanuts (or unsalted cashews)

Cook sugar, butter, syrup & salt over medium heat,
cook and stir until mixture boils.
Stop stirring and cook for 5 minutes more
Stir baking soda & vanilla into syrup
Pour syrup mixture over popcorn & mix well
making sure all popcorn is coated.
Bake at 300* for 25 minutes, stirring every
5 minutes.

    Best Carmel corn I ever had...

            VACUUM CLEANER BROWNIES

1 chocolate cake mix
1 egg
1/2 cup melted butter


2 eggs
3 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup coconut
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Mix the first 3 ingredients together and press into a well
greased and floured 9x13 pan. Mix the remaining ingredients
and pour over cake mixture.  Bake at 325* for 45 minutes.

Grandkids coming...it's a rainy day...make them CLAY

1 cup water
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 Tablespoons oil
2 Teaspoons Cream of Tartar
   Food coloring of your choice.

Mix in pan and cook over medium heat until mixture is thick and pulls
away from pan.  Cool and store in airtight container. 
(send it home with grandkids when they leave...their mother
probably won't talk to you for a week)
